WHO WILL BE THE BEST MCEA LOCAL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON?

For this contest -- NEW, UNUSED SOCKS will be collected by EACH MCEA LOCAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION from October 7, 2010 through November 18, 2010.

All socks must be counted by each local, and all the socks with the total number submitted must be in the MCEA OFFICE in the bin provided to you by Thursday, November 18, 2010.
Each MCEA local will think of ONE innovative way to collect the socks (preferably with community involvement so a PRIDE grant may be obtained by the local association for this) and must submit ONE entry (with the rationale) for a local charity worthy of receiving SOME of the socks (with the number required for dissemination).

As a local, you may win one of THREE VALUABLE PRIZES!! You can win for most innovative method of sock collection, total number of sock pairs donated (divided by the TOTAL number of members in your local education association), and/or most socks received by one MCEA local education association.  Submit those entries with the actual sock donations by Thursday, November 18, 2010.
Just bring in new socks (in a package or with an attached label) and deposit them in the appropriate container which you can obtain from the MCEA Office any week day after October 5, 2010. New, unused socks – any size or color are appropriate!

Questions/Concerns: Contact
Susan Jaysnovitch, Middlesex County Education Association PRIDE in Public Education Chairperson at susan.jaysnovitch@sayrevillek12.net or teachtheinternet@aol.com

You can also phone the MCEA Office at 732-360-5222 and leave a message.
YES, IT’S THAT EASY! You will receive that warm, fuzzy feeling that you helped another person – since all the new socks will be donated. The charities will be determined by the MCEA PRIDE in Public Education Committee and all socks will be distributed by the MCEA PRIDE in Public Education Committee. All socks will be labeled as a donation from the Teachers and Education Support Professionals of the Middlesex County Education Association.  Take plenty of local education association pictures and video footage since we will also have another component (Details announced later) for an MCEA Public Relations video of this worthwhile campaign. Now, that’s the Holiday Spirit from our MCEA!
